For yet another season, the luxe House of Versace is becoming a must-see show for menswear again. Forget about Gucci or Armani, Versace is the one that would be making waves when it comes to offering the super-edgy, chic punk, daring look to the guys.
For Spring/Summer 2014, there seem to be an infusion of sporty-meet-tailoring in some of the pieces. A typical suit is given a cuffed trousers ala sweatpants, bringing a twist of nonchalance-cum-formal to the wearer. And there're infamous Versage barogue as usual, but imprinted to the fabric to give off a shadowy touch of print to the otherwise plain look. And there's the pop art influence with the paint-splash prints, the oversized half-sleeves luxe sweatshirts, the belted suit jacket (that somehow reminds me to YSL by Stefano Pilati used to do), and of course, the edgy biker looks i.e. a must-have for anybody who wanna be a Versace dude.
Some of my fav looks by Versace SS'14 on the runway:
- the cut-out diamond argyle cardigan.
- the star-Versace Medusa studded leather biker.
- the 'chain-mail'-hemmed Western shirt.
- the star-Medusa-studded buttery soft leather shopper bags.
- the braided leather fori loafers.
